THE award-winning musician a songwriter Steve Tilston plays Folk in the Foyer at Evesham Arts Centre on Thursday September 27.

A spokesman said: “Steve Tilston is one of our most celebrated songsmiths, widely recognised within the world of folk and contemporary music; his words, arrangements and subtle, superb guitar playing could be no one else.

His other claim to fame? The story of Steve’s “lost” letter from John Lennon inspired the 2015 Hollywood movie Danny Collins, starring Al Pacino.”

The spokesman added: “Steve’s musicianship gets compared with Bert Jansch, Richard Thompson and Ralph McTell. Over his long career he’s incorporated elements of classical and jazz into English and Irish folk and been part of numerous bands.

“He now primarily plays acoustic, either solo or accompanied by Hugh Bradley on double-bass. As his previous visit to Evesham showed, Steve is a very entertaining assured performer.”
