A SHOPLIFTER has been banned from Malvern Retail Park and from a pharmacy in the town.

Gemma Graty, aged 36, of Archers Close, Malvern had a criminal behaviour order (CBO) imposed on her today (Friday) by Kidderminster Magistrates Court.

On August 10, the court imposed a 12-week custodial sentence on Graty, that she is currently serving.

At that hearing, an application for a criminal behaviour order was made, and adjourned until today.

Under the terms of the order, Graty is prohibited from entering the retail park off Townsend Way, and from entering Victoria Pharmacy, Worcester Road, Malvern Link. The order lasts for two years.

PC Steve Tandy of the Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and those who continue to commit shoplifting offences.

"We are aware that many of the proceeds gained from committing these offences are used to fund a drug-taking lifestyle.

"As a team we are committed to taking a hard stance on those who continue to steal to fund their drug habit.

"Members of the public should be able to go about their daily business without having to witness those who cannot behave in a reasonable manner."

To report any breaches of the order, contact West Mercia Police on 101.
