STOURBRIDGE rock trio Buzzard are gearing up to run their charity festival Buzz Fest and say farewell to co-founding bass player Andy Vernon.

Raising funds for Cancer Research UK, the event will take place from 4pm at Clap Trap in Stourbridge High Street on Saturday September 15.

Frontman Jimmy Croutear said: "It felt right to run the show somewhere less oversaturated in our genre and do our part to help put on the map what a great venue Clap Trap really is.

"We have been involved in various brilliant shows at the venue and the staff have always been very accommodating."

A line-up of eight bands will be taking to the stage along with Buzzard for the event including Voodoo Sioux, Theia, Gunners Law, We Were Demons, Wakedown, Flashhearts and King Corpse.

Drummer Justin James added: "We are so thankful to every band for being a part of this great gig and cause, each act brings brilliant variety and we can’t wait to see their live performances which we know will be very entertaining for the crowd."

The event also marks bassist Andy Vernon’s final show with Buzzard following the announcement of his departure earlier this year. He said: "I am excited to be performing one final time with Jimmy and Justin, and also to have the opportunity to pay thanks and bid farewell to all who have supported us so far on the bands ongoing journey.

"It would mean the world to me to see as many people as possible attending and supporting this great gig."

Dan Smith is set to take over on bass following the gig.

Tickets for Buzz Fest cost £8 each and can be bought online or on the door at the event.
