BORN and bred Bromsgrovian Ollie Tye has opened his own tattoo and piercing shop in the high street.
Since launching Cosmic Monsters Incorporated in 2013, tattoo artist and former South Bromsgrove High School student Ollie has run several local studios, before moving to a bigger and trendier location in the high street two weeks ago.
The 36-year-old told the Advertiser: "The business has been doing really well but we've always been a little out of the way so we wanted to branch out and let people know we're here.
"The new place looks great and we've put a lot of effort into how it looks and feels.
"We've been going up and down the high street chatting to people to let everyone know we're open."
Ollie is hoping his friendly staff and welcoming studio will help to break down the stereotypes surrounding tattoos and encourage more people to appreciate them as an art.
"We're definitely not your typical tattoo studio," said Ollie. "We're all approachable and all award winners.
"We tend to do a lot of shows abroad so we get guests coming from all around the world for our art."
Cosmic Monsters Incorporated specialises in realist, watercolour and abstract tattoos, but also offers piercings.
The studio will be holding an open event on September 22 to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Tattoo artists will be available for consultations, and there will be food, drink and raffle winners announced on the day.
Tickets costing £2 each or £10 for a strip can be brought from the shop at 3 High Street.
