SAINSBURY'S in Hereford has raised over £30,000 for the charity Guide Dogs.
Guide Dogs has been the Barton Yard store's 'Charity of the Year' for the past two years and they have raised money through collections and events.
Sue Davies, staff member at Sainsbury’s Hereford who led the fundraising, said: “This is the most money we’ve ever raised for a charity, it’s been such a success.
“From everyone at Sainsbury’s Hereford, we’d like to say a big thank you to all of our colleagues and customers for their fantastic generosity.”
She added: “Without their support, we simply couldn’t have raised this money.”
The charity has named their latest puppy Barton in tribute to the fundraising efforts of everybody at the Barton Yard store.
According to figures from Guide Dogs, it costs around £56,000 to support a guide dog from birth to retirement.
