THE deadline to nominate an unsung Kidderminster hero for an award is fast approaching.

Kidderminster Town Council’s annual community awards scheme seeks to honour people who have consistently and selflessly helped others within the community.

This year will also see a junior award running, developed to acknowledge inspirational young people within the town.

But the deadline for nominations is Tuesday, July 31 and Kidderminster Town Council is urging folk to get in touch.

A spokesman said: “Whether it’s through volunteering, caring for people or multiple acts of kindness; the awards aim to recognise and reward the selfless work of people within the community that often goes unnoticed.

“If you know someone within Kidderminster who consistently and selflessly helps people or organisations within the community, the Town Council wants to know!

“The Town Council believe it’s important to recognise the selfless work of young people within the community.”

To nominate someone, people can contact the town clerk on townclerk@kidderminstertowncouncil.gov.uk, fill out a form via www.kidderminstertowncouncil.gov.uk.
