PEOPLE who want to make a difference in Halesowen are being urged to join the town’s BID committee.

Halesowen BID – business improvement district – is an initiative run by local businesses who have joined together to make a collective contribution to give the town a needed boost.

Members of the group work together to decide how they want to improve the area, as well as share ideas as a community on how to increase footfall and raise the number of visitors to the town.

They also ensure the BID levy money – a fee which is charged to all business rate payers in the town – is put back into the community.

The Halesowen BID are now in a position to recruit a committee, which will be made up predominantly of business managers within the area, but those who make voluntary contributions to the BID can also apply.

Rebecca Howard, Halesowen BID town manager, said: “If you would like to be a part of deciding what business projects the Halesowen BID works towards, then get on board.”

To express an interest in joining the committee – which is initially expected to meet once a month – email info@halesowenbid.co.uk before Monday, July 30.
