COMMUNITY and craft stalls are being invited to show off their wares at the town’s most popular event in August.

This year’s Morton Stanley Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever with headline performances by 80’s pop icon Hazel O’Connor taking centre stage.

The call is now going out to festival, community and craft stalls that want to come along and display their wares to the thousands of visitors over the two day festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19.

Portfolio holder for leisure and cultural services, cllr Roger Bennett, said: “Morton Stanley Festival is one of those events with a real community feel.

"People from right across the borough come together so it’s the perfect place for local groups, organisations and craftspeople to exhibit their wares. We are delighted to once again be able to offer space to local people who feel they could bring something to the event - just get in touch.”

As well as the headline acts, there will also be performances from local bands on the main stage and in the acoustic tent, DJ tents, a food festival, a pirate fancy dress competition, fun fair and much more.
