AN Oldbury pre-school has launched a fundraising campaign in a bid to replace its worn-out mobile building.

Perryfields Pre-School is currently renting its existing base from the nearby primary school but the building is old and in need of constant repair.

The pre-school – which was given an Ofsted rating of ‘good’ in November 2016 – currently offers places to 32 children aged between three and four-years-old.

And staff, parents and friends have formed a fundraising team to help raise money for a new building and are now appealing for donations.

Rachel Bryan, pre-school manager, said: “We currently rent a mobile building in the grounds of Perryfields Primary School and are linked to the school, but essentially we are financially independent, our money coming from Nursery Education Funding and fees.

“The mobile building that we use is now so old, in need of regular repairs to keep it usable, and we have been unable to get funding through the school.

“We desperately need to raise funds for a new building so we can continue to provide this vital nursery support for local parents.”

Donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/perryfieldspre-school, or by contacting the pre-school on Twitter @PerryfieldsS.

Ms Bryan added: “A total of £140,000 is needed and we have already managed to raise more than £50,000 – but we are still a long way off the total needed.

“We have set up a just giving page and a twitter feed and very much hope that people will support us. All donations, no matter how small, will be very gratefully received.”
