A MOTORCYCLIST died following a crash at a Kidderminster roundabout.

Paramedics were called to the roundabout where The Ringway and Comberton Hill meet in the town at around 9pm last night (July 17).

When they got there, they discovered the male rider lying in the middle of the roundabout but nothing could be done to save his life.

West Mercia Police said the motorbike had been in collision with a barrier and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

PC Steve Oliver said: "To help with our investigation we're keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any other information that could help with our enquiries."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find the rider in the subway in the middle of the roundabout.

“The man had suffered multiple injuries and sadly, it was immediately obvious that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 0798s of 17 July 2018 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

This is the fourth Wyre Forest crash involving motorcyclists to have happened in as many days.

Yesterday (July 17), a rider suffered serious leg and arm injuries when his bike crashed into a lamppost on Worcester Road in Hartlebury at 7.40am.

On Saturday (July 15) at around 8.20pm, a motorcyclist suffered minor injuries in a suspected non-stop collision between a van and a bike on Chester Road North in Broadwaters. A 30-year-old Kidderminster man was arrested before being released under police investigation.

And in a separate incident earlier in the same day, there were reports of another crash between a motorbike and a van on the A449 at Austcliffe Road near Cookley. Paramedics were seen treating the rider at the scene.
