WYCHAVON District Council is looking for a new line-up of artists who might be searching for exhibition space to show off their work.

The council’s Showell Gallery, which is located at the Civic Centre in Pershore, will become available in September.

The total available hanging space in the gallery is made up of five MDF boards with dimensions 135cm high by 255cm wide, 107cm high by 120cm wide, 138cm high by 109cm wide, 140cm high by 100cm wide and 140cm high by 109cm wide.

Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing the 2D exhibitors who come forward and we’re looking for work from all genres in the visual arts, either as a solo or group exhibition.

"There are many talented artists out there and we want to hear from them whether it’s they’re first time or they’re a seasoned exhibitor.”

It’s free to exhibit at the Showell Gallery and artists are welcome to sell their work providing they leave contact details for any sales made and agree to the 15 percent commission fee that is applied.

Any artwork that is sold will need to remain in place for the duration of the exhibition, which is three months.

Exhibitors who are interested will need to first fill out an expression of interest form by 31 July and send three images of their work, either by e-mail or clearly labelled photographs by post, into the council.

A decision will be made by 1 August and the artists chosen to exhibit will be informed of the outcome just after this.

For more information, to request an expression of interest form and to submit the artwork images, e-mail jenny.davis@wychavon.gov.uk, post to Jenny Davis at the Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore, WR10 1PT, or telephone 01386 565396.
