A HOST of ex-Harriers’ stars have signed up for a charity football match and fun day being held in memory of a Kidderminster man.

Delwyn Humphreys, Anthony Malbon, Ryan Rowe, and Darren Steadman will join former Wolves skipper Jody Craddock at the event being held at Gilt Edge club and grounds in Kidderminster on Sunday, July 1 from 12pm.

It is being held in honour of Marcus Davis, who was just 24 when he died on January 25 almost a year after he was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer.

Marcus’ best friend Shane Trossell will captain a team of younger players who will take on Jody’s team.

Also appearing will be ex-Hereford and Alvechurch player Jamie Willetts along with a number of former semi-professionals from Bewdley Town and Stourport Swifts. The game will kick off at 2pm.

Alongside the football, will be live bands Secret Cabaret, The Murmur, Social Hysteria and Bad Medicine. There will also be performances from Diamond Dance Academy.

A charity auction will be held at 4.30pm before everyone moves inside the club for a disco and evening entertainment.

There will also be a set by local DJ Chris Foxall, children’s entertainment and food stalls.

The day was organised by another of Marcus’ friends Mark Donaldson, who wanted to do something in Marcus’ memory. He is being supported by Marcus’ family and friends.

Proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust and Clic Sargent charity, which supported Marcus’ family during the traumatic time.

For more information or for anyone wishing to support the event can contact Marcus’ uncle Ashley Grasham via email at ashgrash1977@gmail.com or by calling 07931 314160.
