PETS in Bromsgrove can get fit, undergo rehabilitation treatment or simply enjoy a pamper session at a new animal fitness centre.

The facility, which was opened by Clent Hills Vets behind the town centre Waitrose on Monday (May 21), features a heated hydrotherapy pool with adjustable water jets, water treadmill, pet shower and dryer and laser and electrotherapy machines.

Clent Hills practice manager Rebekka Fiorani said: "We believe the centre is an excellent addition to our services, providing a holistic approach to wellbeing and rehabilitation.

"We are particularly excited about the hydro pool and water treadmill which offer a wide variety of benefits for dogs, as well as improving their overall fitness, swimming ability and water confidence.

"We can also offer dry treadmill sessions for cats and other pets.ā€

Treatments available, including acupuncture, can relieve discomfort from conditions like arthritis, or support recovery from surgery, injury and illness.

Fitness programmes can also be developed, tailored to pets' needs, to help with weight loss and general wellbeing.

The centre was opened in collaboration with a team of specialists from Bromsgrove Canine Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy.

Physiotherapist Jess Fanning said: "The centre allows us to deliver physiotherapy in conjunction with hydrotherapy, to achieve optimum results.

"Common conditions we can treat include arthritis, muscle and ligament strains, fractures, neurological conditions and joint dysfunction.

"Iā€™m delighted to be joining the Clent Hills Vets team at such an exciting time.ā€

Visits to the centre are by appointment only, and require a signed vet referral or 'fit to swim' form. For more information, or to request a free tour, call 01527 889810.
