THE Intelligently Green Awards have launched in Wychavon as residents are encouraged to think green.

The Intelligently Green Awards are part of Wychavon’s Intelligently Green Plan, which focuses on four key themes: construction; energy; food, tourism and green space; and transport.

The awards recognise, celebrate and promote local green projects, activities and lifestyles that are not only good for the environment but also benefit the community or save money, and that have at their heart one or more of the four Intelligently Green themes.

People can nominate individuals, groups of people, organisations or businesses – they can even nominate themselves or the organisation they work for.

The four categories to nominate people for are individual and household, business and public sector, community groups and schools, colleges and youth groups.

Councillor Emma Stokes, portfolio holder for the environment at Wychavon District Council, said: “We’re really proud and excited to be launching the 2018 Intelligently Green Awards.

"Our last awards showed just how many inspirational individuals, businesses and community groups we have here in Wychavon and they proved that creative and intelligently green schemes can really work for everyone.

"We know the people, projects and schemes will be just as innovative and inspirational this time around and choosing our winners will no doubt be just as tough, but we look forward to the challenge.”
