THE new season of special film screenings at Oldbury Rep continues with ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ and ‘Paddington 2’ set to be shown on the big screen.
Directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh, Murder on the Orient Express is based on the classic 1934 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie.
The film, which will be shown in the Rep’s 170 seat auditorium on Friday (March 23), with high quality digital projection beaming it onto a 16ft screen, follows Poirot, a world-renowned detective, as he seeks to solve a murder on the famous trans-European train in the 1930s.
Showing at the Rep on April 6, Paddington 2 features an all-star cast, including Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Hugh Grant, bringing the much-loved Michael Bond character to life.
The latest story tells the tale of Paddington, now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community, picking up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen.
