A MEET-UP for Bromsgrove dachshunds and their owners has been rescheduled after being cancelled in December, due to bad weather.

The latest event in Clent Hills Vets' 'Know Your Breed' series will now be held on Monday, January 29.

The Kidderminster Road practice will host the free meeting for like-minded, same breed owners to share experiences and learn from a panel of experts.

Clent Hills marketing manager Amy Holloway said: "We were planning a Christmas party atmosphere for this event in December.

"Sadly we had to postpone it due to snow and ice.

"We know the festive season is now well behind us but owners are invited to dress their dachshunds in party clothes for this event and there will be a prize for the best dressed dog on the night.”

The expert panel will consist of vet and dachshund owner Barbara Grabczyk, resident vet Stephanie Greenwood, veterinary nurse and trained canine physiotherapist Emily Ashdown, and veterinary surgeon Tim Easter.

Topics up for discussion on the day include health conditions dachshunds are predisposed to, including Lafora Disease, progressive retinal atrophy and Intervertebral Disc Disease.

Guests will learn the symptoms to look out for and have the opportunity to ask their own questions.

All dogs attending must be up-to-date with vaccines, flea and worming treatments, and be comfortable in group situations. Clent Hills Vets suggests owners bring a small bed or blanket for their dog to relax on during the talk.

To book a place, email a name, contact telephone number and number of people attending to theteam@clenthillsvets.co.uk.
