A CONCERT, inspired by award-winning animation The Snowman and performed by a Bromsgrove orchestra, has sold out with days to go until the big night.

The Friends of St John's charity will be hosting 'A Winter Fantasy' at St John's Church on Saturday, November 25, when the Orchestra of St John will perform well-known music from 'The Snowman' and 'A Winter Bonfire'.

Tickets went on sale online at the Foto Factory in Bromsgrove's high street three weeks ago, with overwhelming interest from local residents.

Event organiser Jo Slade said: "We are thrilled that this event has caught the imagination of so many and that the tickets are sold out in advance of the night.

"We are sorry if people had wanted to come along but haven't been able to get tickets. We ask that people don't turn up on the night unless they have pre-bought tickets."

As a result of the event's popularity, plans are already being drawn up for a repeat concert next year, possibly over a couple of nights.

The concert, which has cost more than £3,000 to stage, has been supported by Bromsgrove District Council, Worcestershire County Council, The Bromsgrove Institute Trust and The Helen Rachel Mackaness Trust.
