A MAJOR Halesowen road is set to be closed for two weeks throughout November so an electricity sub-station can be replaced.

Motorists are being warned they will not be allowed to access Nimmings Road between Long Lane and Clement Road from October 30 until November 13.

The closure is being put into place to allow Western Power to safely carry out the works to replace the sub-station.

A diversion route will be in place taking traffic onto Long Lane, Oldbury Road, Station Road and vice-versa.

A Dudley Council spokesman access to the frontages during the closure will be “maintained where safe to do so”.

Dogkennel Lane in Halesowen will also be closed for a day in November as part of the bonfire night event at Halesowen Cricket Club.

The road will be shut between Grange Road and the bridge over the River Stour from 5.40pm until 9.30pm on Friday, November 3.

The one-way order in Dogkennel Lane will be suspended for the duration of the closure, while a diversion will be via Grange Road, Queensway, Laurel Lane and vice-versa.
