The English Symphony Orchestra will be raising the roof next week, under the baton of their artistic director, Kenneth Woods; and the renowned cello virtuoso, Raphael Wallfisch, will joins the orchestra for a performance of Schumann’s Cello Concerto.

The concert concludes with Mozart’s final symphony, "perhaps the greatest of all symphonic finales".

A spokesman said: "The golden sound of the English Symphony Orchestra - the International Orchestra of Elgar Country - is admired worldwide through the orchestra’s many international recordings and broadcasts, and in this concert the ESO, under their Artistic Director Kenneth Woods, who conducts the concert, launch their new series of concerts in Malvern Priory."

This year has already been a landmark year for the ESO, which has won plaudits from critics world-wide for its recent recordings and concerts.

The spokesman added: "The CD of Jane Eyre has since been released to a string of five star reviews, Disc-of-the Month nods and other plaudits from critics across the UK, France, Canada, America, Germany and Australia. The orchestra's latest Nimbus CD “An Eventful Morning in East London” with violinist Harriet Mackenzie was welcomed with a five star review in The Times and has since been named 'Recording of the Month' by MusicWeb International."
