KIDDERMINSTER Arts Festival's Sheep Fest culminated in a community picnic outside the Town Hall.

The trail of more than 30 individually decorated wooden sheep and lambs had been on display around Kidderminster town centre for more than two weeks.

The Mayor of Kidderminster, Councillor Nicky Gale, working in partnership with Churches Together, commissioned the project as part of this year's Kidderminster Arts Festival.

The sheep and lambs were made by the wood works at the Emily Jordan Foundation.

Visitors could vote for their favourite sheep or lamb using a Sheep Fest trail map - with Wyre Forest Nightstop winning the best sheep and Axis Youth Hub winning the best lamb.

The display culminated in a picnic attended by residents, community groups and dignitaries on Sunday (August 20).

Cllr Gale said: "The picnic went really well - there was a positive support from the community.

"It was really lovely to see people enjoy the event and join in with the fun. We also raised some money for both my charities by selling raffle tickets and refreshments.

"All the sheep are now ready for collection from the Town Hall. I would like to thank the Emily Jordan Foundation for making the sheep without them there would have been no Sheep Fest, the community groups that took part in decorating them and the groups that have knitted blankets and squares.

"The support shown from the community when the sheep got damaged and the church for taking part by having a church service."
