FLORIST Lucy Jones is closing her business at Great Malvern railway station to move to Bath for family reasons.

Mrs Jones opened the shop, Shrinking Violet, in 2013, and since then commuters have been used to seeing her floral designs at the station, as well as her unique creations made out of hundreds of used railway tickets.

And before she goes, she wants to thank all those who have supported her over the last four years, particularly the travellers who donated their used tickets instead of throwing them away.

Among her creations were a ball gown and a cloak, and they have already preceded her to Bath, where they are on show at the town's railway station.

She said: "My son runs a restaurant in Bath which is very highly thought of, and that's why I'm moving.

I don't think I'll be opening a shop there but I will be doing flowers for his restaurant, Menu Gordon Jones, and hopefully for other corporate clients.

"I just want to thank all my customers, everyone who's supported me and all those who donated tickets."

Mrs Jones suffered a serious brain aneurysm in 2006 which robbed her of much of her memory and many skills, and developing her floristry talents became part of the recovery process. Previously she had worked at Malvern Town Council.
