HINTON FC were burgled days before clinching the HFA County League Premier Division.

Police believe that thieves broke into a building at Broomy Hill, Hereford, between 5pm on April 20, and 8am the following morning. The thieves broke into the building by breaking a padlock and a petrol strimmer was stolen.

Graham Andrews, Chairman of Hinton FC said: "It's not the largest crime but significant as we now need to replace it and use funds that we would have used elsewhere in opportunities our club volunteers provide to the community.

"Unfortunately Broomy Hill is attracting a small group of people that are not respectful of our facilities and we are discovering constant littering in the area and on the playing pitch. "This theft was the final straw of tolerating this poor behaviour."

Anybody with any information should contact police on 101 and quote incident number 108s of April 24.
