A PARADE of tractors made its way through Bromsgrove on Saturday, as the town's Young Farmers Club went pub to pub with a collection bucket, raising money for charity.

The fundraiser took 10 tractors on a tour through Dodford, Belbroughton, Fairfield and Chaddesley Corbett to The Fox Inn for a charity raffle, bringing the total raised on the day to £600.

Ludlow Advertiser:

The cash will be split equally between Midlands Air Ambulance and St Richard’s Hospice, both of which are vital to the work of Bromsgrove's farmers.

Owner of East Lodge Farm Will Mason, 25, said: "It went really well, considering we didn't have quite as many tractors as we first thought. It was a nice day so we had a lot of farmers out working and not able to make it. We had a couple breakdowns but managed to get them replaced, so I was quite impressed to raise £600.

"Quite a few people came out especially to see us at the pubs so that was good and we let some children sit on the tractors in Dodford. Then the Fox put on some lunch for us which was nice. We were blessed with the weather and everything went to plan so everyone was really pleased.

"I'd really like to thank the Dodford Inn, the Swan and The Fox Inn for having us. Now we've made a success of it I can hopefully to it again next year with a bigger number of tractors."

Each driver donated £20 to take part in the parade, and local businesses, including the Dodford and Fox Inns, donated prizes for the raffle.
