STAFF at a Kidderminster care home are celebrating after being praised by the people that matter the most to them – their residents.

The Your Care Rating national survey of care home residents saw Hollyfields, in Habberley Road, rated very highly across a number of areas such as quality of life.

The home was given an overall performance rating of 960 out of a possible 1,000 – which is an increase on their score of 938 from last year and much higher than the national average of 880.

Bosses at Hollyfields said they were particularly delighted to get a good ratings of 968 for ‘quality of life’ and 973 for ‘choice and having a say’.

Jane Pye, General Manager at Hollyfields Care Home, said: “It’s great that our residents value the care they receive at Hollyfields Care Home.

“All of our scores across the four themes are really positive, which shows that life for our residents is happy and fulfilling.

“While we’re really pleased with our scores, we are committed to continually improving our services and the survey helps us do that by giving us direct resident feedback.”

The survey saw more than 18,000 residents in 914 care homes across the UK take part and is the country’s largest survey of care home residents.

All of the results of this year’s survey are displayed on their website, www.yourcarerating.org, as well as the comparison figures from last year.

It is aimed at helping families choose a care home for loved ones by providing information on what residents actually think of each facility and the standard of care.
