A HOTEL will close for two weeks whilst a refurbishment takes place.

The Townhouse in Stratford-upon-Avon will be closed until Wednesday March 8, to allow for a full revamp of the bar, dining spaces and its 12 rooms.

The hotel, formerly known as The Church Street Townhouse is an old Grade II listed building, and its owners Brakspear want to make the establishment more modern.

Townhouse manager Neil Hanson said: "The Townhouse is already a popular and well-established restaurant with rooms, and the refurbishment will only enhance what’s already here to create an even more enjoyable place to drink, dine and stay."

The pub will re-open with a gathering for local businesses on Wednesday March 8, before opening as normal the next day.
