POLICE believe they have identified the gang of teenagers responsible for intimidating drivers in a spate of incidents in Worcester.

The bike gang have been intimidating drivers by bringing traffic to a standstill and opening car doors, spitting, kicking and hurling abuse mainly between the Bilford Road and Rainbow Hill.

The teenagers, who are said to range in age between 12 and 16, will now be interviewed by officers over the next week.

Superintendent Kevin Purcell said: "We believe we have identified these children and are arranging to interview each one over the next week.

"We would encourage anyone who considers they have had a crime committed against them or witnessed a crime to call 101 and give the time, date and details of the crime."

On Friday, we reported how one mum had been confronted by four youths while she was driving with her two daughters, aged five and two.

Her five-year-old daughter has been left upset after they opened the door next to her and the mum was given a tirade of abuse from the gang.

Since the story appeared online, the Worcester News has been inundated with people who have had similar altercations with the gang.

One mum said: "They did this to me yesterday (Thursday) on Bilford Road around 4.30pm.

"Opened my car doors a few times and bashed the passenger side.

"Had my son in the back. Wasn't sure what it was at first then they did it again.

"There appeared to be quite a few of them. Stupid behaviour of these teens."

Another woman said she contacted police after her teenager daughter's car was surrounded by the gang.

"These idiot lads just did this to my 18-year-old daughter by Tudor Grange school about an hour ago tonight (Friday).

"She came home in tears, very shaken.

"We have phoned the police and she's given a description of them over the phone.

"These idiot lads need catching.

"They also did it to the elderly couple in the car in front of her which further upset and worried her.

"Hope they are caught soon before they give someone a heart, asthma or panic attack."

Another man added: "These are a group [...] on bikes who have been doing this regularly since the Christmas holidays.

"Regularly seen around The Cross, bus station, Rainbow Hill and Bilford Road areas.

"I've seen them ride out in front of buses, kick them whilst stationary and spit at the drivers."
