WIZZAFEST festival is returning to Droitwich this summer to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, despite organisers failing to make a profit at last year's event.

The festival moved from Stoke Prior to Droitwich Equestrian Centre in 2016 and organisers claim it reached 'new heights', having received some great feedback.

However, the festival failed to cover its outgoing costs, leading organisers to arrange a benefit evening in an attempt to make up their £1,700 losses.

A Wizzafest spokesman said: "Vital funds were raised for Macmillan and an amazing time was had by everyone.

"Sadly we did not quite cover our costs. In order to meet these costs and enable us to continue the fantastic work that is so crucial to Macmillan. we are holding a benefit evening with a great line up of artists."

The event will be held at Lickey End Social Club in Bromsgrove on February 25, and will see the return of some Wizzafest favourites, including Emma Skipp, Martin Daly and Stuart Bishop.

Someone At The Door Samba and BonnyLou will also be taking the sage and DJ Badly will be in charge of the evening's music.

The event is set to start at 7.30pm. Tickets costing £10 are available at wizzafest.com. Children under 14 can enter for free, if accompanied by an adult.

Organisers say anyone taking a copy of this story can receive discounted entry on the night.
