A DRIVER was assaulted by a man who threw a can at his car in the city centre.

The victim, a man in his 60s, was assaulted on Broad Street, Worcester, at just after 4pm yesterday (Thursday).

The man was in a car which had stopped at the traffic lights on Deansway.

It is believed a gang of young men ran out in front of the car and a woman spoke to the group.

One of the men is thought to have thrown a can at the car and the driver was then assaulted by one of the gang.

The victim was left with injuries to his lip.
