STUDENTS explored different job roles during a visit this week.
In conjunction with Qatar Airways, six Heart of Worcestershire College travel and tourism students went to Birmingham Airport to explore behind the scenes.
Students even got to explore the facilities on the new Qatar Airways 787 Dreamliner.
Level three travel and tourism student, Ellie Peters, said: “The trip to Birmingham airport was amazing and has given me an opportunity to look behind the scenes and see parts of the airport you don’t see as customer.
"It gave me a real idea of the working world in an airport. The trip showed us a number of different roles including cabin crew, dispatchers, airline managers, check in desk and many more.
"Now I have a much clearer vision of working in the travel and tourism industry and my knowledge will really help me not only with my course but also in Spires Travel where I work.”
Spires Travel manager, Paul Knapper, added: “It is wonderful that Birmingham Airport and Qatar Airways give us the chance to come and experience the airport and get to see one of the new Dreamliner Aircraft first hand.
"Our staff and students can use the things we learnt from some training we had to benefit not only the Travel Agency, but also for their future career choices.
"We all came away from the day knowing a lot more about Birmingham airport and Qatar Airways, and made some important industry contacts.”
