A DAUGHTER is raising money for a "truly amazing place" which treated her beloved mum "like a queen" before she passed away last month.

Laura Bryant described her mum Tracy Davies as a lovely, kind and caring woman who worked hard her whole life.

Mrs Davies, from Skiddaw Close, Warndon, passed away aged 53 on Sunday, August 14 - just a year after she was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer.

Her daughter is raising money for St Richard's Hospice, Wildwood Drive, with a charity event on Saturday, October 15 at the Prince of Wales, Windermere Drive to say thank you to the staff and volunteers.

Miss Bryant said: "My mum was a lovely, kind, caring lady who worked very hard all of her life.

"She brought me up as a single parent and loved her bingo, having a few pints of Carling and a couple of glasses of wine.

"She had chemo treatment and radiotherapy and was doing really well, it never really bothered her then all the sudden she took a turn for the worst at the end of July.

"She became very poorly and sadly passed away.

"My mum was loved by so many people especially myself and my two young children Liam, 15, Jorja May, eight, her husband Cliff, mum Pat and stepdad Stan, her brother Steve and sister Cathy as well as her cat Alfie Moon.

"My mum was in the hospice for over three weeks in June for pain management and everyone from the volunteers to the chef was amazing.

"They treated her like a queen. It really is such a nice place to be.

"They really did sort her pain out and, much more, even gave her confidence back when she lost her hair.

"Every single member of the hospice was truly amazing even the main doctor, doctor James he was superb.

"Mum got admitted again on August 12 then passed away on the 14th, the hospice kept her very comfortable and made sure she was pain free for the last few days of her life.

"St Richard's Hospice is a truly amazing place - I can't thank them enough."

The evening will run from 7pm until late and tickets, available from the pub, cost £4.

There will be music from Two Weeks Notice, Bang On and DJ Rich Morse as well as excellent raffle prizes.
