A REDDITCH special school is appealing for help to find a "dynamic" new governor to help steer forward improvements to the building.

Pitcheroak School, based in Batchley, is a community school that provides education and specialist support for around 140 pupils, aged four to 19, who have a range of learning needs.

A spokesman said: "A dynamic governor is being sought to drive forward lots of exciting changes to the building and premises-related matters.

"The aim is to recruit an enthusiastic representatve from the local community who understands and cares about the status of the school in the community and somebody who wishes to make a positive contribution to the life chances of children with additional needs and wants to share their skills to make a difference."

Governors are invited into school during the day to attend events and activities as well as observing lessons.

The main governing body meeting is held termly on Tuesday evenings from 5pm.

Anyone with experience of domestic or commercial building renovations, who would like to help, is invited to contact the school to arrange a visit and information chat with the head teacher.
