THE boss of a Dudley manufacturer has raised £2,219 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thomas Dudley’s joint managing director, Jason Parker, completed the Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire on June 12.
The gruelling challenge consisted of of a 1.2 mile swim in Chasewater reservoir, a 56 mile bike course through the countryside and a 13.1-mile run at the historic Shugborough country estate.
Jason, who completed it in six hours and 35 minutes, said: “As so many of us are touched by the dreadful disease cancer, the work Macmillan Cancer Support do is just truly remarkable and it’s one of the most humbling experiences I have witnessed.
"The experience was extremely tough but I finished the course in a respectable time and I’m overwhelmed by the support I received.
"I will be entering other challenges and raising more money in the near future.”
