WITCHCRAFT and old magick takes centre stage in a new book released by an author from Bewdley.

Written by Carole Carlton, Mrs Darley’s Practical Pagan Magick explores the mysterious world of spells and ancient beliefs.

The book is based on lessons learned from next-door neighbour, Mrs Darley, who she lived next to during her stay in Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, during the 1990s.

Ms Carlton said: "The book charts my journey when I lived in Cornwall with my next-door neighbour.

"She taught me all about everything I know and changed my view on many things.

"I am indebted to her for introducing me to a world of ancient beliefs, Cornish folklore, healing and magick.

"This book is about practical magick. Anyone who is interested in an alternative spiritual path will get something from this book.

"It gives the reader permission to investigate and explore spirituality in their own way and people with an interest in witchcraft or religion will also be take something from it."

Ms Carlton and Tylluan Penry - from publisher Wolfenhowle Press - both provided talks at the two-hour book launch at the Goddess House in Glastonbury on June 12.

This latest book, which is the sixth in the series, is available to purchase for £9.99 from arcanus.co.uk or by visiting Mrs Darley's Herbal Shop in Bewdley Museum.
