POLICE are appealing for help to locate a prisoner who has escaped from HMP Hewell in Tardebigge.
Andrew Dawson, aged 36, absconded from the prison yesterday morning (Wednesday, April 27).
Dawson has served two years of a seven year, four month sentence for customs offences.
He is white, approximately 6 foot 2, of large build with light brown hair, short facial hair and blue eyes.
Detective sergeant Stuart Hawkeswood said: "We are urging Mr Dawson to hand himself in to the authorities as soon as possible.
"We would like remind the public that assisting someone in avoiding arrest could be a criminal offence which could result in prosecution."
Anyone with information is urged to West Mercia Police on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
