STRUGGLING to get in that festive mood?

Local charity Batchley Support Group Redditch Communities (BSGRC) will be hosting its 7th annual Christmas event Yule by the School on Friday, December 4.

The event will start at 5.30pm with a procession of carol singers accompanied by Santa and his sleigh from Batchley First School, through St. David’s House and Queen’s Cottages to the Christmas tree opposite the Batchley road shops.

The children from Batchley First School and Birchensale Middle School, will be singing carols around the tree at 5.45pm, accompanied by members of the Salvation Army band.

At 6pm the Christmas tree lights will be switched on by Redditch mayor Pattie Hill and followed by a fireworks display.

Santa’s grotto will open at Batchley Community Centre at 6.15pm until 7.30pm where refreshments are available.

The grotto will cost £1.50 per child (maximum age of 10-years-old) and each child will receive a gift.

Maureen Muckle MBE, from the charity, said: "Once again we are delighted to host this event for the families and children of Redditch. Santa has kindly agreed to visit us once again this year, as the children of Redditch made him so welcome last year."
