CARE workers in Worcestershire are calling on David Cameron to reverse spending cuts for services for the elderly.

Funding for home care services in Worcestershire and across the country is being squeezed in the face of government spending cuts and councils being forced to make cutbacks as a result.

Managing director of Malvern-based care provider Right at Home Cheltenham to Malvern, Richard Turner has called on people in Worcestershire to sign a petition calling on the Prime Minister to take action over the problem.

“We want to show David Cameron and George Osborne why homecare is so important and the positive difference these services make to so many local people,” he said.

It has been estimated nationally home care services will see a £753 million funding shortfall in the next financial year unless the government takes action.
