DUDLEY Wood charity runner Mark Sinclair is ready to give 'The Grinch' a few more outings this autumn.

The 50-year-old unemployed care assistant is set to dress up as his his favourite film character to complete half marathons in Cardiff and Birmingham.

The costume has proved a huge hit in previous races with spectators and competitors alike clamouring to have their photographs taken with him.

Mark is set to compete in Cardiff on October 4 and then run in Birmingham two weeks later.

But he is no stranger to running, having clocked up 192 races since 1989 - including six London marathons.

His latest runs will be raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support following a promise he made to the the family of former Sandwell Alderman Fred Perry MBE, who died in 2013.

While working as a care assistant in Great Bridge, Mark built up a rapport with Mr Perry, who had terminal prostate cancer.

Mr Perry had always wanted to do something to raise cash for the charity but passed away before he got the chance.

Luckily, Mark stepped in and promised he would do something on his behalf and has already raised more than £300 for the cause in May this year running the Edinburgh half marathon.
