EARLY birds will get the chance to attend extra evening fitness classes at Stourbridge’s Crystal Leisure Centre.

Additional 30-minute metafit classes will run from 5.15pm on Mondays and 5.30pm on Thursdays, while bodytone sessions will run weekly on Tuesdays from 5.30pm until 6.30pm.

The original un-choreographed metafit workout was created by a former Royal Marine Commando and aims to kick start the metabolism with a mix of the latest training techniques as well as traditional bodyweight exercises.

Low-impact bodytone sessions are suitable for all levels of fitness and include fat burning and muscle strengthening exercises which give all over body toning.

Councillor Rachel Harris, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Group exercise is a great way to get started and to get fit. Knowing you’re not the only one working is always motivation to keep going.

“The early sessions will hopefully mean that more people get an opportunity to take part.”

Prices start at £2.50 per session for metafit and £5 for bodytone. Classes are included in the price of an Options Lifestyle gym memberships and a 50 per cent discount is applicable for Options+ leisure card holders.
