HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for St Michael's Hospice and the Guide Dogs Association by groups messing about on the river.

The Mad-Dash fun raft race and super raft race event in Hereford were organised by staff at the BT Satellite Station in Madley.

Hillbillies came home first as fastest fun raft while Rosie's Rebels, made up of a crew of two sighted and two non-sighted people representing the Guide Dogs Association, won best Fancy Dress crew.

In the super race, Patrick's Gulpers from Leominster broke the course record, closely followed across the finish line by Chevron from Ross-on-Wye and Wonder Y from Tring in Hertfordshire.

Following this year's success which raised £655 for good causes, plans are already underway for 2016.
