A WOMAN was taken to hospital after suffering serious leg injuries during a road crash in Lower Gornal.
The female pedestrian, in her 60s, was involved in a collision on Temple Street at 7.15am today (Thursday October 29).
Emegerency medics including a MERIT trauma team and two ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews used tourniquets and splints, administered pain relief and immobilised her on a scoop stretcher.
“Accompanied by the MERIT team, she was taken to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“A woman who was driving the car involved, was shaken but appeared to be uninjured. She was taken to Russells Hall Hospital as a precaution.”
