ORGANISERS of this years h.Energy are on a mission to put Herefordshire top of the league when it comes to community-owned solar power.
As part of the three day event – which showcases local and DIY energy saving ideas and activities – a new initiative is to be launched in Hereford.
Here Comes the Sun will bring together existing and potential community solar cooperatives across the county and, as part of the celebrations, Pomona Solar Cooperative will be launched.
It will help support and generate even more community energy share opportunities.
The launch, on October 11 at the h.Energy Marketplace, will be accompanied by a rendition of the Beatles classic on a busking piano that is doing a tour of the county as part of this year's h.Energy.
Now in its fifth year, h.Energy 2014 will include open eco-homes, community meals, woodland walks, cycle rides, inspiring renewable energy generation opportunities, films, talks, discussions, local food and craft demonstrations, poetry and storytelling and more.
The event takes place between October 10 and October 12.
