YOUNG Ben Willis, a pupil at Ludlow Junior School, Clee View, contacted Philip Dunne MP to secure his support for a charity fundraising event he is organising in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support as part of The Big Coffee

“Ben took the initiative to arrange a fund raising event himself and I am delighted to be supporting his efforts,” said Mr Dunne.

“He and his family are encouraging businesses across Ludlow to donate items for the raffle and I wish him well in this great cause.”

Ben Willis, aged 10, said he had been reminded of a friend who had cancer.

“I wanted to raise funds for Macmillan Nurses because I saw an advert on TV and it reminded me of a friend who had cancer so I hope people in Ludlow will come and support this event,” said Ben.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is taking place from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday September 20 at the Upper Fee Community Centre, near Old Street.

It will be free to attend but a donation is requested for coffee and cakes and there will be a raffle.
