DUDLEY’S latest resident is set to be the star of summer shows at Wren’s Nest National Nature Reserve.
Wardens at the reserve say the discovery of a broad-leaved helleborine orchid is a milestone because the species has never been seen at the Wren’s Hill Road site before.
Councillor Hilary Bills, Dudley cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The nature reserve is nationally recognised for its geology and the site’s limestone grassland is important for other orchids found there such as the Bee and Pyramidal Orchids.”
The reserve is hosting family events throughout the summer holidays, for more details call 01384 812785.
