Take the scenic route through south Shropshire with Wenlock Wanderer

THE first sighting of the ‘Wenlock Wanderer’ is a sure sign of spring.

That’s the name given to the Shropshire Hills Shuttle bus which starts the 2012 season on Saturday and runs every weekend and Bank Holiday Monday until the end of September.

New for 2012 is the Wenlock Wanderer, a bus route between Much Wenlock, Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and Church Stretton, which will navigate the limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge, through ancient woodland and along the Stretton hills and Long Mynd.

Stephanie Hayes, promotions officer for the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty said: “There are some great walking opportunities, as well as fantastic views, welcoming country pubs and fascinating heritage sites to visit.

“You will be able to travel on both Shuttle bus routes using a Day Rover ticket, which remains the same price as last year, and those holding valid concessionary travel passes travel for free.”
