A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital following a two car collision on the A49 Ludlow bypass yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the junction with Overton Road at 5.25pm.
Paramedic Vicki Smillie said: “One car had suffered significant damage.
“The driver, a 52-year-old woman from Powys, was complaining of neck, back and head injuries.
“Working with fire crews, the roof was removed while we treated her inside.
“She was then immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before she was airlifted to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.”
A 49-year-old woman, from Ludlow, who was in the other car, had chest pain and was taken to the same hospital.
A baby boy was also taken to hospital as a precaution, but a man did not require any treatment.
