THE European Referendum will make no difference to the Ludlow Town Twinning Group.

In 2017 the Ludlow Town Twinning Association will mark its 30 years linked with La Ferte Mace in Normandy.

Both are market towns with as much in common as many differences.

The groups from both towns are committed to the idea of the people of the two towns getting to know each other and forging links of understanding and friendship.

“Brexit or no Brexit, this is a tradition that we are determined to maintain,” said John Holliday, president of the Ludlow French Twinning Association.

“Some members have been with us for the full 30 years while some younger members only joined last year. Eleven young people came on our last trip and we look forward to seeing everyone again.”

A group from Ludlow will travel to La Ferte Mace at the end of May for a visit that will last four days. A number of excursions have been arranged, there will be a ‘sing in’ event and a celebratory meal.

Most of the party from Ludlow will travel by coach and stop with French families.
