LUDLOW and south Shropshire is to benefit from the nefarious activities of bankers.
South Shropshire is to receive more than £1 million from the penalties imposed on banks for rigging lending rates.
Philip Dunne MP for Ludlow has welcomed funding support for Shropshire, through LIBOR funding announced in the autumn statement.
The Chancellor, Philip Hammond, allocated £1 million to support the Midlands Air Ambulance and £11,132 to Confide Counselling Project, to provide bespoke counselling services in Shropshire for members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.
“I am delighted that Shropshire will benefit once more from LIBOR funds, announced following the autumn statement,” said Philip Dunne.
“The Midlands Air Ambulance does tremendous lifesaving work in Shropshire and the wider Midlands. So an additional £1 million of funding to keep its helicopters up to date is a really welcome boost.
“It’s also good to see the Chancellor using these funds to back service personnel, veterans and their families in Shropshire. Providing bespoke counselling sessions will help ensure we are doing right by those who proudly wear our nation’s uniform.”
