A LUDLOW opticians has raised more than £400 after hosting a charity quiz night.
Specsavers Ludlow organised the event, held at the Burway Bowling Club, in aid of Brain Tumour Research and Hope House Hospice.
It saw ten teams of four compete in the general knowledge quiz and £425 was raised.
The store has pledged to donate a total of £5,000 to the charities by the end of the year and the quiz night was part of this wider fundraising effort. So far this year, the team has hosted a number of fundraising activities, including store director Nicola Aubrey cutting 12 inches from her hair, a sponsored bike ride and a charity car boot sale, with all proceeds totalling £2,473.
Brain Tumour Research has a large focus on funding of research and government reform around brain tumours, while Hope House Hospice offers respite and end-of-life support to families in need.
