LUDLOW has struck gold again in the Heart of England in Bloom awards.

For the tenth successive year the Ludlow in Bloom group has been awarded the top accolade.

In means that in the 14 years that the town has entered it has only failed to take gold twice.

Vivienne Parry who chairs the ‘In Bloom’ group said the success is down to the work of the small army of volunteers and the commercial sponsors as well as Ludlow Town Council that makes an annual grant.

She said that many small things coming together made for a winning formula but believes that the new sensory garden in the town centre created with the help of £12,000 from Tesco has been an important factor this year.
