LIFE as a member of the wartime Land Army will be described at a meeting of a south Shropshire gardening group.
Robin Hill will talk about service in the Land Army at the September meeting of the South West Shropshire Gardening Club.
“I have had an interest in agricultural history since researching at Aberystwyth University and then beginning a museum career in Wales – while struggling to learn the language,” said Robin Hill.
Several job moves later, I arrived in Worcestershire where I managed the county museum service for 20 years. Now I am a free-lance heritage consultant working for the National Trust and a variety of other museums.
"I still find time to do a little practical farming on our horse-powered family small-holding”.
Robin Hill lived in Colebatch, while managing the farm museum at Acton Scott.
The talk will be held at Lydbury North Village Hall at 7.30 on Wednesday, September 28. It is free to members of South West Shropshire Gardening Club; visitors are also welcome at £5 per person including refreshments.
